About us
Elektro-Thermit is a part of the Goldschmidt Group and global leading process provider for aluminothermic welding – Thermit® welding.
Manufactured according to the strictest quality standards Elektro-Thermit develops, produces and supplies all components that are required for the Thermit® welding process. The portfolio includes Thermit® portions, refractory casting molds, reaction crucibles and tools and machines for performing and processing the weld as well as for its technical acceptance. Tools and machines with an involvement into software or database solutions enables further analysis and visualizations. This ensures process reliability and the reproducibility of all required parameters of aluminothermic welding.
The technical service of Elektro-Thermit support also in solving problems on the track and in introducing new products and processes. In addition, we offer training courses in all Thermit® welding processes on its own training grounds and with customers worldwide.

Insulated rail joint MT
The insulated rail joint MT is set up directly in the track on-site using a prefabricated kit.
Thanks to quick and easy assembly, only short operational breaks are necessary
Can be used immediately after installation
Variants mean it can be tailored for individual requirements
Possibility of rail head hardening in the joint area, meaning longer life and reduction of maintenance costs
Minimum tensile loading and fatigue strength tested in accordance with EN 16843
Trackscan Mira
Achieve a complete assessment of the rail with eddy current inspection trolley Trackscan Mira. The device has been approved for use by DB Netz AG.
Detection of head checks and squats by eddy current testing method
Assessment of damage depth and frequency
Advanced lightweight construction by using composite material
Optimized for switches
Low-wear single probe guidance
Filter function against influences
Opportunity of data post-assessment and data export
Monitoring of inspection sensitivity

Trackscan Use-B
The ultrasonic rail inspection system Trackscan Use-B detects, among other things, deep head checks, squats and corrosion at the rail foot. The result data can also be imported into the customer’s own infrastructure data.
Detect and evaluate volume defects seamlessly
2D visualisation of "Glassy rails“ in A-scan or B-scan view
Filter function against influences
Complete storage of raw data
Low maintenance costs due to modular design
Modern lightweight construction using fibre composites
Inspection possible in forward and reverse operation
Suitable for left-handed and right-handed users
Railstraight
Extremely accurate in measuring straightness and surface quality of longitudinal rail profiles
Railstraight Wave also offers the analysis of corrugation
Measuring using the Railstraight app on a device for Android
There is an option to monitor the calibration via the Railstraight app
Automatic referencing of the measurement system for temperature compensation every 30 seconds
Powerful, internal lithium-ion battery which can be recharged via micro-USB
Alternative power supply via eight AA batteries for longer operating periods
Robust design (IP protective class 54) for flexible operation on the track
Railstraight Wave is approved for the Deutsche Bahn network
