Rodless PCP by Oil Dynamics and NETZSCH
Rodless PCP (ES PCP) – A product by Oil Dynamics and NETZSCH

For some well conditions Progressive Cavity Pumps (PCP) are the best choice.

However, though depths, strong deviations or extensive doglegs can limit the possibility to use typical PCP surface-drives because of extensive shaft wear and even frequent shaft breaks.

The solution is the Rodless PCP Technology – A combination of a Progressive Cavity Pump and an Electric Submersible Motor – jointly developed by Oil Dynamics and NETZSCH.

Nevertheless, electric submersible induction motors (IM), typically being used to drive centrifugal pumps run too fast to be directly connected with PCPs. Planetary gearing is costly and empirically failure-prone. The solution is the combination of NETZSCH Progressive Cavity Pumps with Oil Dynamics 10-pole Permanent Magnet Motors (PMM). The PMMs deliver directly the torque and rpm range required by the PCPs.
